Created the music of Genius Gorilla”Nature Opera for KOKO
I was a music school student and when I chose Koko the gorilla as the theme for my string quartet,
I saw on Youtube that a boy was using the violin to express various animal noises.
I wanted to experiment with different ways of playing a stringed instrument, and this was my motivation for composing this piece.
This piece begins with pigeons cooing in the forest in the morning, followed by cows on a farm at noon, sea birds shimmering in the sea, and the savannah at sunset!
The sound source was notion, an application I was using at the time to create music scores.
As a new challenge, I used AI illustrations created by Adobe’s firefly.
It was difficult to create “a very attractive, intelligent, and compassionate female gorilla.
But I had a lot of fun, and the result is a great video!
