[About the instrument and the music]
My fretless harp guitar is special and produces overtones like the biwa or sitar.
Many of the world’s stringed instruments were introduced to Japan via the Silk Road in the form of the biwa, and have evolved in their own unique way.
So I experimented to see what kind of music I could make with the oriental scale, which is associated with the Silk Road.
As I was enjoying playing the instrument, I came up with some great ideas for phrases that make the most of the fretless technique.

For this piece, I filmed the process of painting by myself and adjusted the timing in Final Cut pro to complete the work. It is simple, but the sound and images are in harmony and created an effect beyond my imagination.
This is exactly the world of Disney’s Fantasia that I adored watching as a child!
